My client is seeking an 3rd line engineer to join their IT Helpdesk team and work with their IT Projects professional services team in Colchester, Essex.

The successful candidate will provide a wide variety of IT services to their customers predominantly focused on Microsoft, VMWare, Hyper-V, Citrix, Cisco, and SonicWall technologies. This will include project planning, management and implementation as well as issue resolution & consultancy services as required. You will also be required to assist their IT Helpdesk Engineers as a point of escalation.

Experience in as many of the following areas as possible is desirable:

• Worked in an MSP (Managed service provider) environment
• Proven history of successful consultancy, project planning & implementation
• 3rd line technical skills in Microsoft Windows Server technologies
• 3rd line technical skills in scoping & implementing Intel based server hardware
• 3rd line technical skills in LANs, WANs, Firewalls, VPNs, Cisco preferred.
• Virtualisation (both Hyper-V & VMWare), Storage, Disaster Recovery, Scoping hardware requirements
• Windows Server, Exchange Server, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Office, Office 365 Migrations
• 3rd line technical skills in storage systems, NetApp preferable.
• 3rd Line technical skills in Citrix XenApp.

You will have access to multiple training platforms and they will cover Microsoft examinations costs.
