Tradewind are currently working in partnership with a fantastic two form entry school based in Hackney. Who are looking for an excellent experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to help support a child in year 3. Starting in May 2024, through to the end of the academic year July 2024.

The pupil who needs supporting has ASD and requires additional support throughout the school day, a background working with SEN, specifically ASD, ADHD and SEMH would be hugely beneficial for this position.

How will you be supporting?

  • Supporting a Year 3 pupil with ASD 5 days a week
  • Monitoring behaviour and taking notes throughout the day
  • Supporting the pupil with classwork, set out by the teacher
  • Supporting within the classroom and 121 outside of the classroom
  • Monitoring progress of classwork
  • Working closely with the pupils parents, class teacher and senco
  • Supporting the teacher with the daily running of the class

Requirements:

  • Have experience working with primary school pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Experience working with KS1 or KS2 pupils
  • Hold either a degree or a teaching assistant qualification
  • Experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Background in care
  • Hold a valid up to date clean DBS check on the update service
  • UK address and right to work
