1.1 Year 3 Teaching Assistant (Temporary to Permanent)

  • Position: 1.1 Year 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Medway
  • Contract Type: Temporary to permanent after 12 working weeks
  • Start Date: May or September 2024
  • Day rate: £85-90 per day (salary will be discussed when permanent contract is offered)

Are you passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact on young learners? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1.1 Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team in Year 3. This position is initially offered on a temporary basis, but transitioning to a permanent role.

Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Year 3 class teacher to support students’ learning and development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with classroom activities, including one-on-one support with an SEN student. 
  • Providing additional support to students with varying abilities
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborating with colleagues to create engaging lesson materials
  • Monitoring student progress and reporting any concerns to the class teacher

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with primary school-aged children and SEN. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • A patient and nurturing approach to supporting students’ individual needs
  • A commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing classroom dynamics

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Additional qualifications in child development or education are desirable
