Year 10 Tutor - St Helens

Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an experienced tutor or teacher to provide 1:1 support to a Year 10 student in the St Helens area.

The successful candidate should be able to offer 10 hours of support per week, split across 5 sessions during school hours.

The student is performing below age-related expectations and requires support across core subjects.


Working as a Tutor through Prospero, you will be a vital part of student development and so the ideal candidate will have a patient and empathetic attitude. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on a students educational journey in order to help them succeed with their studies.

Position details:

  • Location - St Helens
  • Position - Tutor
  • Support - Maths, English and Science
  • Duration - Ongoing
  • Hours - 10 hours p/w, split across 5 sessions

Experience, Training and Qualification:

  • QTS / QTLS / PGCE / EYTS or equivalent
  • 2 years experience working in a UK school
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding and Prevent Awareness training is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience working with SEMH

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
