Tutor - Skelmersdale

Prospero Teaching are committed to providing high-quality academic support to students and we are currently seeking dedicated and experienced Tutors who can do just that. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students, enhance their confidence, and contribute to their academic success.

As a Tutor you will play a vital role in helping students develop proficiency across core subjects. You will work closely with students to reinforce key concepts, improve comprehension, and build problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create engaging, effective and personalised learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct one-on-one sessions to students with various academic abilities
  2. Develop personalised lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and tailored to students' individual learning needs and goals.
  3. Reinforce fundamental concepts in English, Maths and Science
  4. Provide support with assignment and exam preparation.
  5. Assess student progress through regular evaluations and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  6. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to encourage student engagement and academic growth.

  • Start date - ASAP
  • Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Hours - Flexible working hours between 8:30am - 3:30pm

Experience, training and qualifications:

  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYTS or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
