Recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Kirklees!

This rewarding role is set to commence asap and run until July 2024. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with a child who has ADHD and Autism, providing individualized support to help them flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Personalised Assistance: Tailoring your teaching and support methods to suit the child's specific needs.
  • Emotional Support: Building a trusting relationship with the child to help them develop social and emotional skills.
  • Behaviour Management: Assisting the child in managing their behaviours in a constructive manner.
  • Curriculum Support: Supporting the child in accessing and engaging with the primary school curriculum.
  • Communication: Maintaining open and regular communication with teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.

To be eligible for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
