Reed Education is currently seeking a 1:1 teaching assistant for a child with communication difficulties and autism in EYFS to join one of our schools located in Scunthorpe. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual support to the child in order to help them catch up with their age-related academic expectations.

The position is full-time, five days a week from 8:30am to 3:30pm, and the pay rate is £90 - £100 per day. The role will begin in April 2024 to cover a 9-month maternity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing individualised support to a child with communication difficulties and autism
  • Helping the child catch up with age-related academic expectations
  • Maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to develop and implement appropriate educational plans for the child
  • Monitoring the child's progress and providing regular updates to teachers and parents
  • Helping the child develop social skills and engage in group activities with their peers
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to the child as needed.

The school are looking for a candidate who is patient, understanding, and able to adapt to the unique needs of the child. Experience working with children with autism and communication difficulties is preferred, but not required. A relevant qualification such as a teaching assistant diploma or equivalent is also a plus.
