£85-£98 p/day

Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with a child with special educational needs, providing tailored support to facilitate their learning and development within the classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support and guidance to a child with special educational needs, ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
  • Collaborate effectively with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement personalised learning plans and strategies.
  • Assist with the creation and adaptation of learning materials and resources to accommodate the child's specific needs and abilities.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the child's social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Monitor and record the child's progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team and parents/carers.
  • Support the child with any personal care or mobility requirements, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in a classroom setting, is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting the individual needs of each child.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, would be advantageous.
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt to the changing needs of the child and the school environment.
