Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a primary school in Winsford as the are looking for an experienced and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with global delay on a 1:1 basis. This is a full-time ongoing contract, meaning it will be extended for the next academic year.

Your new role
In your new role as an SEN Teaching Assistant in this primary school, you will be supporting a pupil in year 3 with global delay on a 1:1 basis. You will be the pupils' main point of contact throughout the full day. As such, you will be required to meet them at the school gate at the start of the day and walk them back to ther parents/guardians. You will support the pupil during lessons and lunch times, ensuring that all activities are inclusive and accessible for them. During lessons, you will assist with phonics and offer intervention and booster sessions in all subjects as required and regularly liaise with the SENCO on the pupils' progress.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as previous experience supporting children, young people or young adults with special educational needs, as well as:

  • Previous experience working with GLD (global delay)
  • The ability to take a person-centred approach to education
