Position: KS2 SATs Intervention Teaching Assistant

Location: Preston PR1

Contract: Full-Time, Long-term, Opportunity for permanent placement in school.

Start Date: ASAP

Prospero Teaching are working with a primary school in Chorley with a welcoming and inclusive learning environment dedicated to providing every child with the support and encouragement they need to succeed. As they prepare their Key Stage 2 students for their SATs exams, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to deliver high-quality intervention programs and help the students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the KS2 teaching team to identify students who require additional support in preparation for their SATs exams.

Plan and deliver targeted intervention sessions to small groups or individual students, focusing on key areas of the curriculum such as English, Maths, and Science.

Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and reinforce understanding of SATs topics and concepts.

Monitor student progress through regular assessment and feedback, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary to address individual learning needs.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support and intervention.

Requirements:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role in a primary school setting, with a focus on Key Stage 2 education.

Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs assessment framework, including familiarity with SATs preparation materials and resources.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the academic and personal development of all students.
