Overview

The aim of of this programme is to enable you to gain the skills and knowledge to assist with salon services.

Description

The course may include the following units:

  • An understanding of working in the hair industry
  • Assist with reception duties
  • Apply health & safety practices
  • Apply blow-drying and styling hair techniques
  • Contribute to the development of effective working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Shampoo & condition the hair
  • Assist with colouring services including temporaty and semi products
  • Prepare and maintain work areasper year 2 learners

Assessment is through observation of practical performance, oral questioning and written tests and assignments.

Requirements

No qualifications are required. however, all applicants are interviewed and must possess appropriate dexterity and communication skills and the desire to work in the hairdressing industry.
