Description

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to understand more about anxiety in teenagers. Including parents, teachers, youth workers, and anyone who cares for or works with teenagers.

You will explore the concept of anxiety and its impact on teenagers’ lives. You will cover the fight-or-flight response and explore anxiety’s impacts on adolescents. You will explore the different types of anxiety, including health anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, generalised anxiety, phobias, PTSD and OCD.

You will explore the signs and symptoms of anxiety in teenagers and understand why recognising the signs and symptoms can help with early intervention.

You will finish the course by exploring the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety in teenagers, including visiting the GP, seeking help from mental health professionals. You will also explore how high schools can provide a nurturing environment for teenagers, offering strategies to address anxiety-related challenges within an educational setting.

In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.

You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for three years.
