Based on this same quality, we now offer the Summer Business School. Here you will be encouraged to discuss new business topics, and enhance your awareness at an international level. You will be taught by the same experts that lecture on our Master's and MBA programmes.

The classes are delivered through a combination of discussions, case studies and group projects – taking you closer to the real business environment.

Through their combination of academic experience and professional exposure, you will gain fresh insights and perspectives on globally important topics.

PROGRAMME

The full Summer Business School programme lasts 4 weeks, and covers the following four topic areas:

Marketing & Strategy Course dates 7-11 July 2014

Marketing success and business success are inseparably linked. Survival in the new media environment now puts even greater emphasis on intelligent use of marketing's essential tools. Without agile strategies to implement these tools, most products and services fail.

Throughout this module you will be introduced to the purpose, processes and methodologies of marketing strategy. Through presentations and discussions on examples of good practice, you will develop a more informed understanding of the purpose of marketing planning. You will also engage with a variety of underlying issues – strategic, operational and tactical.

New Media & Communication Course dates 14-18 July 2014

Names like Facebook and Twitter are part of our daily routine. The Digital Media's power and possibilities are endless. Whether used in sports, business or politics, however, the most appropriate strategies and digital platforms must be considered carefully. Through a variety of case studies you will examine different situations, products and services – and their ultimate goals. You will analyse the pros and cons of various new media approaches, alongside ethical considerations and the future of the new media itself.

Leadership & Organisation Course dates 21-25 July 2014

Are you a leader? Do you want to become a leader? Will you ever be a leader? Organisations spend thousands on training and seminars on leadership and management techniques. This part of business is clearly linked to its success, with bad management leading to bad business decisions. The importance of understanding the key factors relevant in business management will be explored through this module. Students will test different approaches, while real-life case studies will be used to illustrate different strategic scenarios and outcomes.

Global Business Environment Course dates 28 July - 1 August 2014

We live in a global economy. To succeed in international business you need a thorough understanding of different markets and economies, and how people across them think and communicate. The success stories in this area, such as Zara, Shell, and Body Shop, have thrived not only through accurate business sense, but also by knowing exactly how to tackle new international ventures. Throughout this module, you will examine case studies to develop your own critical thinking and analytical skills, as well exposing you to new ideas.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
