Overview

In order to work as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry you will need to have a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence. This course will provide you with the necesaary qualifications to apply for your SIA license and seek your new job in the Security Industry as a Door Supervision officer.

Description

This six day course is a mixture of 4 days online virtual classroom and 2 days classroom for the practical element. This course was introduced on the 1st April 2020. The course provides you with the qualification required to apply for your licence in Door Supervision - providing manned security in licensed premises such as pubs, clubs and stadia.
This qualification also allows you to provide Security Guarding in shops, offices, buildings and other sites - in fact everything covered in the Security Guarding Course.

With effect from the 1st of April, 2021, the SIA has implemented new changes regarding their Security Qualifications. Those changes stipulate that prior to being enrolled onto a Door Supervision or Security Guarding course, you will need to show that you hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is an SIA requirement that training centres must confirm that each you are sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid. If this is not a qualification you presently hold, please contact us and we will be able to facilitate a first aid training course for you.

Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry

  • The role and objectives of a Door Supervisor within the PSI.
  • Civil and criminal law relevant to a door supervisor
  • Searching relevant to a door supervisor
  • Powers of arrest relevant to a door supervisor
  • Drug-misuse issues and procedures relevant to the role of a door supervisor
  • Incident recording and crime scene preservation relevant to the role of a door supervisor
  • licensing law and social responsibility relevant to the role of a door supervisor

Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry

  • Use of non-pain related standing, holding and escorting techniques, including non-restrictive and restrictive skills

If you visit our website 'Training For Security' and navigate to the 'public training' on our homepage tab and hover with your cursor you will see a drop tab, scroll down to the "First Aid" option and you will redirected to the page with information on our first aid courses. the very first option 'Emergency First Aid at Work' is the most suitable selection in this case. additionally an email can also select the 'contact us' tab for further queries or help.

This course is not 100% online, as it states "Online and Classroom SIA Approved Level 2 Door Supervision Course" which means it is both in-class and online. Our Security Guarding and CCTV Courses are 100% Online.

Do I need to already have first aid or will it be taught on the course?

Good day Rosie, It is a requirement by the SIA that you must be in possession of an authorised First Aid Accreditation that has a minimum of 12 months to run on the first day of your Door Supervision COurse, but don't rear we can provide this course for you too. THank you.

is this course online? do i have to do the 5 days in a row or can i complete in my own time?

Hello Paige This course is done 3 days online and 2 days in person. Please note these are live classes and must be completed at the scheduled time. Please note that after April 1st, when booking a Door Supervision Course you will need to have a First Aid certifciate. The course will also increasing from 5 days to 6 days. The Classroom elements are delivered form our center in Kent. The next course that will not be affected by these changes are: 29th-31st March and 8th, 9th April 2021.

Hi Debbie, We provide you with the necessary training needed to pass for the certification. You will then have to apply to the SIA for your licence, however we will guide you along every step of the way.

Hi Debbie, The classroom element will be at the Training for Security Limited Security House located at 146 Wellington Street ,Gravesend, Kent ,DA12 1JF. However, we do not have locations in Cumbria.
