Introduction to the world of antiques
Antiques are truly fascinating as they give us an insight into our history. This course will present many strategies and concepts to prepare you for the path of becoming a successful buyer and seller of antiques and collectibles. Successful collectors learn what sells, and what to buy in order to sell later. Many of the most profitable collectors and dealers learn the principals necessary to trade, barter, acquire and sell both antiques and collectibles. They avoid expensive mistakes and missteps. They use knowledge as their best tool to acquire items for their collections or resale.
Aesthetic movement
This module focuses you on introducing you to the aesthetic movement and it's importance to antiques world. You will learn about what was popular then and what is popular now as well as the importance of knowing how to recognise the hidden gems at the flea market.
Fakes and forgeries
Knowing the difference between a fake and an original can really save your profit. It can turn an unsuccessful day at the car boot sale into an incredible life changing experience by knowing to recognise value where others don't see it. At the same time, learning how to spot a fake or forgery can salvage you from investing time and money into an item with no value. This module teaches you trade techniques to help you quickly identify value, fake and forgery.
