The Principles of Business and Administration course is divided into following comprehensive modules.

This brand-new course provides an introduction to information management, administrative services and document production. Students will also examine such areas as supporting change and supporting business events. The qualification meets the requirements of the Technical Certificate for Business and Administration, and helps learners to demonstrate that they have acquired the underpinning knowledge required to support apprenticeships in this area.

The course materials comprise three mandatory units and three optional units, as follows:

Mandatory Units

  • L/601/7638 – Principles of personal responsibilities and working in a business environment credit value: 4)
  • R/601/7639 – Principles of providing administrative services (credit value: 4)
  • J/601/7640 – Principles of managing information and producing documents (credit value: 3) 

Optional Units

  • L/601/7641 – Principles of supporting change in a business environment (credit value: 1)
  • R/601/7642 – Principles of supporting business events (credit value: 1)
  • Y/601/7643 – Principles of maintaining stationery stock (credit value: 1) 

To achieve and be awarded the qualification; students are required to achieve a minimum total of 13 credits.
