The Principles for Implementing Duty of Care in Health, Social Care or Children and Young People's Settings (Wales) course will also benefit anyone wishing to know more about the safe practice of duty of care.
A ‘duty of care’ is a requirement to exercise a reasonable degree of attention and caution to avoid negligence which would lead to the harming of other people.
This module will introduce learners to duty of care and how it contributes to safe practice; conflicts or dilemmas that may arise between an individual’s rights and the duty of care; and complaints which may be received and how to respond to them.
On completion of this module, learners will:
- Understand how duty of care contributes to safe practice;
- Know how to address conflicts or dilemmas that may arise between an individual’s rights and the duty of care; and
- Know how to respond to complaints.

Lessons can be taken in any order and each lesson may be PAUSED and RESUMED at any stage. When all lessons in the course have been completed our system will realise and automatically record that you have successfully completed the course
