Who is it for?

If you already have an awareness of, or are working with, the PRINCE2® methodology and Project Management, then this PRINCE2® Practitioner course is the ideal next step for your career. Building on the fundamentals of the methodology laid out in the PRINCE2® Foundation, this course will introduce you to more complex applications. If you’re aspiring to senior Project Management positions, then this certification will demonstrate to potential employers that you have all the competencies required.

Are there any requirements?

In order to complete this certification you will need to have completed the PRINCE2® Foundation certification prior to your exam.

A PRINCE2® Manual is required to complete the PRINCE2® Practitioner Certification. This can be included within your course – ask your Learning Consultant for further details. 

What skills will I gain?

Your PRINCE2® Practitioner course will prepare you for senior Project Management positions by building upon the fundamentals covered in the PRINCE2® Foundation. In completing this PRINCE2® Practitioner course you will:

  • Learn how to manage projects or to work in a project environment using the most internationally recognised project management method.
  • Ensure that team members focus on the viability of the project in relation to its business case objectives - rather than simply seeing the completion of the project as an end in itself.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
