Overview

This City and Guilds 6302 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector qualification is for people who intend to work as teachers/trainer/tutors in FE colleges, adult and community education, work-based learning, voluntary sector organisations, and offender learning.

Some of the participants will be working teachers (in-service), some with considerable teaching experience and others who aspire to a career in teaching (pre-service).

The course will also suit technicians and support staff in the lifelong learning sector and training personnel in commerce, industry, the public sector or the armed forces.

Description

The course covers the essentials of the skills and knowledge required to begin teaching. This includes learning theories, course and lesson planning, teaching methods and strategies, assessment methods, recording keeping and practical teaching tasks. 

Requirements

The course is set at level 3. Learners must have level 2 written English skills to participate.
