Physics IGCSE
The IGCSE in Physics aims to impart a systematic body of scientific knowledge and skills as well as foster an appreciation of the practical nature of physics. Experimental and investigative skills based on safe, correct safe laboratory techniques will be developed. Students will also gain an appreciation of scientific methods and learn to form hypotheses and design experiments to test them.

- To foster an appreciation of the practical nature of physics, and develop experimental and investigative skills based on correct and safe laboratory techniques

- To enable students to evaluate, in terms of their scientific knowledge and understanding, the benefits and drawbacks (including social, environmental and economic) of scientific and technological developments

Assessment
The course contains a number of assignments which your tutor will mark and give you valuable feedback on. We call these Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs). You need only send the TMAs to your tutor for comment, not the self-assessment exercises which are also part of the course to help you gauge your progress

The paper is assessed through a 2 hour examination paper set and marked by Edexcel.
The total number of marks is 120.
Physics Paper 2 Paper code: 4PH0/2P
Externally assessed
Availability: January and June series
The paper is assessed through a 1 hour examination paper set and marked by Edexcel.
The total number of marks is 60.
