Description

There are two kinds of waiters : those who love and know what exactly they are doing, and those who are always complaining and seem not to get the job done right. This course will help you to become the first kind of waiter!

Waitering may seem easy but there are a number of skills needed to be a good one. Time management skills, multi- tasking skills and communication skills are key ingredients to be a good waiter.

At the end of this course, students shall learn how to:

(1) understand the fundamentals of waitering;

(2) deal with food;

(3) evaluate health and safety;

(4) handle tools and equipment;

(5) understand the menu;

(6) prepare a service and

(7) serve the guests.

To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.

The waiter has to know about the food being served, especially how long it will take to prepare the food. However, aside from this, the main goal of waitering is to provide the best quality of customer service.

This course does not work on Tablets and Mobile Phones.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
