Course Structure
A course will typically comprise of 3 interactive modules and a final assessment. Links to recommended reading and additional resources may be provided within the training modules. These links are not mandatory and will not be tested for in the final assessment.
Duration
It takes a maximum of 60 minutes to complete individual courses in full, some people with prior knowledge may complete a course in less than 30 minutes. This can be spread out over multiple sessions or completed in a single session. The courses are valid for up to 1 year so effectively there is no time limit for completion.
Assessment
All candidates must complete a multiple choice assessment after working through the training material. Typically a candidate will be asked 12 multiple choice questions, randomly chosen from a larger question pool, and need to answer a minimum of 9 correctly to pass. Candidates will be given instant feedback after completing the assessment stating whether they have passed or failed. The assessment can be re-taken as many times as required at no additional cost.
Accreditation and certification
Successful candidates will receive a RoSPA or ConCest accredited certificate and either 0.5 or 1 CPD credit depending on the course. See details elsewhere on Reed web site for the individual courses.
Who is this course for?
These online courses are general awareness courses for employees and employers operating in a low risk working environment such as offices, shops and warehouses. The courses are designed to satisfy the training and awareness requirements of relevant legislation and regulations including The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992, Electricity At Work Regulations 1989 and other relevant guidance such as HSG107 and HSG85, L23 manual handling guidance and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1971.
These course can still be used by people working in high risk environments as a general introduction alongside suitable supplementary, hazards specific training. (eg Fork Lift Trucks)
