HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM ELIGIBLE?

• Aged 19+ as of 31st August 2023
• Lived in the EU for the last 3 years
• You do not hold a level 3 (or higher) qualification in any subject, or, if you do hold a qualification of at least level 3, you must be either unemployed or in employment but earning below the low wage threshold of £20,319

The level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health will provide you with a greater understanding of mental health issues, the importance of mental well-being through various stages of life, mental health legislation, services and public attitudes, treatment options available and skills required to work in a mental health service.

Currently, in the UK 75% of mental ill health begins before the age of 18 and 1 in 8 worldwide, live with a mental health condition, therefore this qualification will increase your knowledge and understanding of mental health and mental well-being to support you to work within the health and social care sector. This Level 3 Understanding Mental Health qualification will give you a comprehensive view of mental health problems, legislation and societal attitudes. In the UK, each year over 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health disorder.

The objective of this qualification is to develop the learner's understanding of a range of mental health problems, which could be used to support their role in the workplace, or where they may work or interact with individuals with mental health problems.
