Our MSc Management programme provides you with the skills and competencies you need to manage effectively in business today, combined with the opportunity to tailor your degree in specialist areas such as project management and finance.
This programme is ideal for you if you are a graduate or professional in any field, looking to work as a manager.
Our focus is on making you more employable. With that in mind, the MSc Management programme places particular emphasis on building the interpersonal, analytical and problem solving abilities you need to make an immediate impact in a managerial role. All modules on this programme have been designed around a set of key Career Ready employability competencies which have been judged essential by employers to recruit and retain valued staff.
This programme has also been designed to move you beyond a single perspective of how a company functions. Modules
The MSc Management programme is split into three stages. Each stage is worth equal credits and consists of four modules.
Our three-tiered award system means that even if you don't finish, you can still achieve a Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Management if you successfully complete the relevant stages.
Please note that modules run subject to demand, therefore all modules may not run in all locations.

How the programme is taught
You'll benefit from a contemporary programme geared towards the realities of working as a modern manager. The MSc Management consists of a highly effective combination of lectures, small group sessions and online learning.

The small group sessions, in particular, have a strong emphasis on student-centred learning, involving practical skills sessions to prepare you for what it's really like to work in a management role.
In a typical week you can expect 3 hours of lectures and small group workshops for each 15 credit module. You'll also find further support at your fingertips through the Business School's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). You will work alongside people from diverse backgrounds, including experienced industry professionals, all within a business-orientated environment.
We focus on developing your professional skills so you can transfer management concepts into real life. A wide variety of activities are used to support your learning, including:
- Interactive lectures
- Video and written case studies
- Individual and group exercises, both face-to-face and online
- Presentations by visiting experts
- Engagement with a range of professional and academic materials
- Management skills sessions, including presentations, board room discussions and simulations
Once qualified, you will enjoy the confidence to apply your highly relevant knowledge and skills to a wide range of managerial challenges
The programme is divided into three stages. If you decide not to continue after successfully completing Stage One (four months) you'll still be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Management – an excellent foundation for future success. Stopping after successfully completing Stage Two (eight months) achieves a Postgraduate Diploma in Management.
Study programme
The programme consists of 7 core modules which will equip you with the knowledge and skills that are fundamental to management practice. These include modules covering competitive intelligence, leadership and change management, markets and marketing and operations management. These are followed by a series of streamed modules which offer you the opportunity to focus your learning on one specialised area such as project management and finance or select those that reflect your interest and career path.
You study two further electives in the third term alongside a consultancy project or work placementdesigned to showcase how you can apply the skills and knowledge you have developed during the programme.
Assessment
You'll be assessed module-by-module using a combination of coursework, closed-book exams and supervised projects.
Your programme materials will include mock assessments and revision packs to fully prepare you for the real assessments. You'll also get feedback throughout the programme to help you realise your full potential.
Additional Qualifications
On successful completions of BPP's MSc Management you will also receive a CMI (Chartered Management Institute) Level 7 Certificate.
Entry requirements
To apply you will need one of the following:
(a) A 2:2 Honours degree from a recognised university or the equivalent international qualification; OR
(b) An acceptable professional qualification equivalent; OR
(c) A pass in the Graduate Entry Examination; OR
(d) An acceptable professional qualification equivalent such as the CMI, ILM at level 6 or above
Following the review of applications, you may be required to:
(a) Attend a face-to-face interview
(b) Take part in a telephone interview
(c) Submit a Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score of 550 or above
(d) Submit a Graduate Records Examination (GRE) of 500 for Verbal and 500 for Quantitative. The median GRE score for each section ranges from 550-625 per section, with the median total around 1200.
If you are a non-native user of English you must also:
(a) Provide evidence that you have been instructed and assessed predominantly in English for a significant part of your educational career OR
(b) Provide evidence of an IELTS 6.5 overall with no less than 6.5 in any subcomponent. If you obtain a score of 6.5 overall with 6.0 in any of the subcomponents you will have to attend insessional English Language classes alongside the programme during the first term of studies at no additional cost OR
(c) Provide evidence of an equivalent result in an appropriate English Language examination
