Overview

This exciting, innovative and flexible part-time course, accredited by CIPD, offers a route to personal and career development for HR practitioners or those aspiring to become an HR practitioner.

Taught on one afternoon and one evening a week, students can exit with a Postgraduate Diploma after two years or achieve an MSc qualification in two and a half years.

The programme is designed to provide you with the critical and analytical skills to lead, manage and develop people in the modern workplace.

COURSE DETAILS

As a part-time student you will, over two academic years (72 weeks), attend the School of Management on one afternoon and evening per week (normally a Tuesday in Year 1 and Monday in Year 2), starting in September each year. 

The programme has a broadly based first year and comprises three 20 credit modules.

Year 1 PG Diploma and MSc
Leading, managing and developing people (20 credits)
HRM in context (20 credits)
Employment Law (20 credits)

More strategic and specialist modules are offered in the second year, which differ depending on whether you choose to study the Postgraduate Diploma or MSc.

Developing skills for business leadership (10 credits)
Human resource development (10 credits)
Employee relations (10 credits)
Investigating a business issue from an HR perspective (20 credits)
1 Elective module

Year 2 MSc

MSc students will complete a dissertation in year 3 for the additional 60 credits required

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
