Are there any requirements?

It is recommended that you have a working knowledge of relational databases, ideally from two years’ of experience, in order to get the most from this training.

What skills will I gain?

You'll learn how to:

  • Create a Data Warehouse with SQL Server 2012
  • Implement ETL (extract, transform, load) with SQL Server Integration Services
  • Validate and cleanse data with SQL Server Data Quality Services and SQL Server Master Data Services.

In order to achieve the MCSA SQL Server 2012 certification, you will be required to complete the following three modules of course material and pass the associated exam:

70-461: Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012

  • Querying Basics and Modifying Data
  • Manipulate Data Using Operators and Functions
  • Creating Functions and Triggers
  • Creating Programming Objects and Optimising Queries
  • Managing XML Data

70-462: Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases

  • Installation and Upgrade
  • Instance Configuration and Database Creation
  • Managing Databases and Automating Tasks
  • Security Management
  • Managing Database Data
  • Managing Indexes, Full-Text Search and Partitions 
  • Backing Up and Restoring Databases
  • Database Monitoring and Performance Tuning
  • Configuring High Availability

70-463: Implementing a Data Warehouse with Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Please note: This module is still under development by SkillSoft and is due to be released in August 2013. If you purchase the full MCSA SQL Server 2012 course, your course material will be automatically updated when this module becomes available. Until this time you will have complete access to the first two modules of this course.
