Overview

This course combines value creation with strategic development in a manufacturing environment, providing you with up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes. You’ll develop an understanding of the concepts of manufacturing engineering systems as well as the skills to analyse, design and implement these systems in practice. You’ll also gain experience in the application of technology and of quality tools and techniques in order to improve operations and develop skills in strategic and operational management.

Requirements:

Lower 2nd Class Honours degree, or equivalent, in a Manufacturing or Engineering discipline. Candidates offering an HNC/HND plus professional qualifications and/or proof of significant work experience will be considered for part-time study. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS: 6.5 (with no score less than 6.0), or Pearson (Academic): 62 (with no score less than 59). Other English language qualifications may be considered.

Modules:

Modules include: Industrial engineering; manufacturing process technology; operations strategy for industry; problem solving with statistics; quality, reliability and maintenance; project planning, management and control; logistics and operations management; and additional technical electives (such as automation and robotics; machining technology; advanced materials and processes; digital design collaboration; or the virtual factory).
