Description

Course Description

Would you like to learn how to transform someone’s appearance and carve yourself a new career at the same time? Why not take a look at our Make-up Artist Diploma course, which will provide you with all the skills and knowledge needed to become a successful Make-up Artist.

You don’t need any previous knowledge to start this course, as we’ll take you right back to basics, covering Health and Safety, anatomy and physiology, applying make-up, photographic make-up and so much more.

If you are currently working full-time, no need to worry because you are free to study in your own time at your own pace as we allow you 12 months to complete your course with unlimited Tutor support.

Assessment

Firstly you will start by covering all of the theory needed to prepare you to work with clients, completing assignments which will be marked by your Tutor.

You will then be ready to move on to your Video Tutorials which will give you the opportunity to practice everything you have learned and perfect your skills. You will be set tasks in certain procedures and in order to verify you have carried these out accurately, you will be required to send/email photographic evidence of your work to your Tutor, with contact details for the person you are practicing on.

Once you are ready, we will then arrange for you to attend a day’s practical training, with a choice of various locations (see attached). You will be assessed by observation of practical skills during the course together with oral questioning to clarify understanding.

You will be required to bring your own model on the practical day and they will be needed at various intervals.  You will also need to bring a camera in order to take photos of your before and after shots (video cameras are not permitted).  All make-up will be provided for you, however if you would like to bring your own professional make-up kit, please feel free. Please wear professional attire.

Any other items required on the day will be provided by Learn Now; these will be made available to you in advance.

It doesn’t stop there!  So that you can practice using the best possible products available, we will provide you with a starter kit containing everything you need to complete your assessments

We will also provide you with a DVD that covers 26 different looks including day to evening looks in minutes and smokey eyes.

Your DVD will be of great help to you once you complete your course and start working on paying clients as it will provide you with an abundance of inspiration.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
