The traditional focus on specific job-related skills has expanded to include the training needs of the whole person necessary for meeting the constant challenges of changes in corporate environment.
This course provides the student with a barefoot survival kit to obtain the necessary skills to develop themselves or to assist others with survival in the fast track of corporate environments.
Description
Syllabus:
Module 1 – Understanding Body Language
Summarise your understanding of the term “Body Language”
List the components included in non-verbal speech
Discuss the role of gestures and postures in non-verbal communication
Module 2 – Personality Assessment
Summarise the various personality factors discussed in this module
Examine the methods of assessing personality variables
Module 3 – Developing Active Listening Skills
Summarise the importance of active listening
Define non-verbal communication and list the barriers to learning
Explain the concept of ownership of problems
Module 4 – Communication Skills
List and explain the elements involved in communication
Briefly summarise the importance of having good writing skills
Discuss the communication problems presented when using the telephone
Module 5 – Effective Public Speaking
Summarise the points to remember when preparing to speak publicly
Explain how you would prepare yourself for a public speaking session
Module 6 – Stress Counselling in the Workplace
Summarise the benefits of stress counselling and examine the roles of an EAP
Assessment
Assessments are a great way of checking your progress allowing you to apply your learning to real-world situations. Through the Lifestyle Consultant - Business (Level 3) Course by NCFE, students will be assessed by a series of written assignments, which are submitted to and marked by your tutor.
All assignments are set by NCFE. Upon verification of the activities, exercises and assignments, a certificate of achievement will be awarded by the national awarding organisation NCFE, as confirmation that your written work has met all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the programme. There is no external examination required.
What's included:
You will have access to a tutor, via email, who will mark your work and guide you through the course to help you be ready for your examinations. In addition you will be supplied with a comprehensive Study Guide which will help you through the study and assessment process.
The course pack includes, guidance on relevant study skills and full tutor support comprising:
- the marking of a series of assignments
- written answers to specific study problems
- 12 month tutor support via emails
- a copy of our study guide, will give you guidance on studying and submitting assignments
Study Time
Study Hours are an approximate figure and are dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow enough time to complete assignments/ question papers.
