What kind of evidence will we need to produce in order to pass the assessments. For example, budgeting? If we don't manage that side?

Assessment support for evidence gathering is provided to enrolled students based on their unique circumstances. That is what the IAG payment is for, and if you want those lessons you have to pay the fee, and we will give you access to them. Juliet asked:

Im a senior care assistant can l do this course, though all my work is through agency

Answer:

Hi Juliet. Yes, you can do this course if your tasks at work include supervising & managing other staff. Whether you are employed directly by your employer or they employ you through an agency doesn't matter. The content of your job role is important. This course requires you to provide evidence of competence in practical tasks of leading, supervising & managing people. If you do all that in your current role as Senior Care Assistant then you can successfully get through the course. Regards

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Svea asked:

I am head of care . Can this be completed in less than 12 months?

Answer:

The learner determines the time it takes to complete the qualification. If you complete all your assessments to the required Level 5 standard in less than 12 months, then yes. Your job should enable you to provide work-based evidence to prove your skills & competence to the required standard. For example, if the evidence you submit shows poor practice that puts service-users at risk then it will not be accepted, & you will be expected to implement good practice & submit evidence at that standard

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Diane Doody asked:

I previously managed a small team for two years. Can I complete the criteria if I do not manage anyone in my present role.

Answer:

No, the work-based evidence must be current, as in the evidence must be generated from the current job not something you did years ago. Therefore, if you want to do this qualification, you should get a role as either a manager or deputy manager in a care setting, either residential care (care home), or domiciliary/community care (home care), or related care setting for adults.

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Ngozi asked:

I have worked as an agency and bank staff in various health care settings as a care assistance and support worker for over 12 years can still apply

Answer:

Hi Ngozi. Yes you can still apply. This course is for managers of care settings, and with 12 years' experience in the care sector, you should be ready for promotion. The practical aspects of this course require you to be in a management job, either as a deputy manager or a full manager. You can still start the course if you are currently a care support worker, but during the course you should move to a management job role in order to be able to provide work-based evidence as manager.

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Ngozi asked:

I have worked as an agency staff and bank staff in care , nursing homes, mental homes, prison and adult learning disability home for 12 years .

Answer:

Hello Ngozi. You haven't asked a question. You have made a statement regarding your 12-year experience in various aspects of the care sector. What is your question please?

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Sunny asked:

I can Apply for this course from India to study there? or please suggest any other similar course. Thanks.

hi i worked as a care assistant for 1 year with no previous experience or knowledge , can i do this course?

We deliver the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care RQF as well. However the decision is yours, and we will support you in whichever qualification you choose to study with us.

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
