Overview
This course allows you to re-qualify as a First Aider with our classroom based learning. This requalification course saves money and time as learners will re-validate their certification in 1 extended day (with prior eLearning) rather than the 2 day traditional requalification course.
Within the blended course learners will:
- Refresh their memories on life saving skills and knowledge
- Remind them how to perform first aid on a wide range of accidents, illnesses and injuries
- Ensure confidence to manage and take control of a First Aid incident in the workplace
Having completed the course the first aider will be able to have access to:
Digital first aid ID
Digital first aid manual
Full access to first aid videos
n.b. - You can only undertake this requalification course if your first aid at work certificate is within date or has expired no later than 28days from the date of the course. If this is not the case you will need to complete the 3 day first aid at Work course. Evidence of your previous certificate will be required on the day of the course.
Qualification
Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)
Description
Delivery
- Delivered by a qualified instructor over a 2 day period.
- Includes interactive scenario training to aid learning and recall
- Learners are assessed throughout using practical demonstrations, quizzes and activities
On completion the learner will receive:
- A regulated TQUK Level 3 TQUK RQF certificate, valid for three years.
First Aid at Work Requalification Course Content
Day 1
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of the first aider
- Assessing an emergency situation safely
- Placing AED pads correctly
- Providing first aid for casualty who is: unresponsive and breathing normally
- unresponsive and breathing normally
- suffering a seizure
- unresponsive and not breathing normally
- suffering from shock
- externally bleeding
- has a minor injury
- choking
Day 2
- Conducting a secondary survey
- Administering first aid to a casualty with:
- injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- suspected head and spinal injuries
- suspected chest injuries
- burns and scalds and explain the factors that affect severity
- an eye injury
- sudden poisoning
- anaphylaxis
- suspected major illness
Who is this course for?
Individuals who have previously gained a First Aid at Work certification that is due to expire.
Individuals who need to re-qualify their First Aid at Work certificate to meet HSE guidelines in their workplace
Requirements
Learners must be 14+ and have an understanding of written and spoken english
Career path
