Overview

Become a qualified First Aider and save lives with our classroom based 3 day First Aid course. This First Aid at Work (FAW) is the highest workplace First Aid qualification you can receive, developed in consultation with the HSE.

Having completed the course the first aider will be able to have access to:

* Digital first aid ID

* Digital first aid manual

* Full access to first aid videos

Course media

Description

Delivery

  • Delivered by a qualified instructor over a 3 day period.
  • Includes interactive scenario training to aid learning and recall
  • Learners are assessed throughout using practical demonstrations, quizzes and activities

On completion the learner will receive:

  • A regulated TQUK Level 3TQUK RQF certificate, valid for three years.

First Aid at Work Course Content

Day 1

  • Understanding the role and responsibilities of the first aider
  • Assessing an emergency situation safely
  • Providing first aid for casualty who is:
  • unresponsive and breathing normally
  • Suffering a seizure
  • Unresponsive and not breathing normally
  • Suffering from shock
  • With external bleeding
  • With a minor injury
  • Choking
  • Placing AED correctly

Day 2

  • Conducting a secondary survey
  • Administering first aid to a casualty with:
  • Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Suspected head and spinal injuries
  • Suspected chest injuries
  • Burns and scalds and explain the factors that affect their severity

Day 3

- Administering first aid to a casualty with:

  • An eye injury
  • Sudden poisoning
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Suspected major illness

Who is this course for?

This course is for any individual that desires to become a First Aider.

To meet regulation, this course is ideal for businesses with assessments that have identified higher risk.

Requirements

Learners must be 14+ with an understanding of spoken and written english

Career path

The First Aider qualification would be an asset to a CV and enhance employability. This would help in applying for jobs with high risk environments.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
