Description

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) has been designed to provide an introduction to teaching for individuals who would like to work or currently work within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers and/or Local Authorities. It can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as: Individuals not currently teaching or training – achievement of the qualification does not require practice other than microteaching; Individuals currently teaching and training, including those new to the profession – although the qualification does not require practice (see explanation above), opportunities may be made available to observe and provide feedback on a trainee teacher’s practice; and Individuals currently working as assessors, who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake between 48 and 61 hours of learning delivered over 4 full days.

Topics covered

These include the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training, ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training, inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training and ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed through the delivery of a micro-teach session and the production of a portfolio of evidence and is certificated through HABC.

For employers

The Award in Education and Training will enable delegates to deliver regulated and accredited training courses to others.

Course materials

The Education and Training textbook will be provided along with a comprehensive delegate pack.

Upcoming open courses are delivered over 4 full days and are inclusive of tuition, certification fees a course handbook and delegate pack. Free follow up support will also be available from your tutor.

The qualification is assessed through the delivery of a micro-teach session and the production of a portfolio of evidence and is certificated through HABC.

Please note that this course is intensive and work outside of the classroom will be required.

Requirements

Delegates must be 19 years of ago or older. There are no formal entry requirements; however delegates must possess the necessary standards of english, mathematics and information communication technology (ICT) required to undertake the qualification.
