Practical Requirement
The Unit titled "Assess occupational competence in the work environment" is a practical skills-based unit, and requires that the learner will assess two different learners studying for a course that is work based.
Duration and Delivery
This course is designed to be completed online at the pace that suits you the best. This fast track level 3 assessor course can take as little as 4 days or up to 2 weeks to become an assessor. The level 3 assessor qualification is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment. Our online tutor support is there to facilitate you to achieve your success rate accordingly.
Assessment and Verification
All units within this assessor qualification are internally assessed by our qualified assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. The assessment takes the form of written assignments and demonstration of assessment skills through video recording, detailed guidance for which will be provided by the tutor.

Successful completion of this 100% accredited course enables learners to proceed to the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, Level 4 Certificate in Leading the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practices, and other qualifications in the field of education such as the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. Requirements
Learners should:
- be over 19 years of age
- have a satisfactory level of Literacy and Numeracy skills
- have access to at least two learners on accredited courses
The prospective assessor candidates are required to find their two learners whose coursework they will assess.
There are no formal minimum requirements for this course, however, candidates must have occupational competence in the area they choose to assess.
Trainee assessors must be aged 19 or over.
Trainee assessors must possess competence in functional skills (English, mathematics and ICT).

- Students may also progress onto other qualifications including the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessments and then the External Quality Assurance of Assessments
- Students may also choose to complete a teaching qualification alongside their Assessor Award
