Who is it for?

The IOSH Working Safely course is designed for all staff and employees working within any organisation. The course is designed to help you change your responses to health and safety and clarify your health and safety responsibilities.

IOSH Working Safely is recognised by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). On successful completion of IOSH Working Safely you can apply for a CSCS green Labourer card.

Module breakdown

IOSH Working Safely consists of the following:

  • Module 1: Introducing Working Safely
  • Module 2: Defining hazard and risk
  • Module 3: Identifying common hazards
  • Module 4: Improving safety performance
  • Module 5: Protecting our environment

At the end of the training participants will:

  • Understand why they must ‘work safely.
  • Understand the difference between hazards & risks.
  • Understand hazard identification.
  • Appreciate and improve upon safety performance within the workplace.
  • Hold a CSCS recognised health & safety certification.

How will I be assessed?

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
