This qualification is perfect for home study students that are new to the world of manufacturing and wish to gain an in-depth look into the production process of goods. Designed for people new to the industry seeking a formal qualification to launch their career, the Level 2 Certificate in Manufacturing, Planning and Control teaches many areas of the manufacturing process to people new to the world of production.

Upon completion of this qualification, students are awarded an IOSCM Level 2 Certificate, an SFEDI Level 2 certificate and an OLC Diploma. All certification fees are included in your course fees.

Course Content

This course assesses several criteria and learners must complete four mandatory units:

Mandatory Units

Manufacturing Planning and Control 5 Credits

  • Understanding the manufacturing process
  • The role of assembly in manufacturing
  • Manufacturing improvement techniques
  • The importance of production planning
  • Understand the process of engaging external organisations to participate in the manufacturing process

Warehousing and Inventory 5 Credits

  • Understanding the purpose and characteristics of inventory
  • How goods are received in a warehouse
  • Key warehousing activities
  • Health and safety arrangements in a warehouse environment

IT In Manufacturing 2 Credits

  • Understanding the function of IT in manufacturing
  • Understanding the role of IT in manufacturing
  • Policies and procedures that affect IT in manufacturing

Supply Chain 5 Credits

  • Understand supply chains across a range of sectors
  • The roles of other organisations in supply chain
  • Communication and information sources within a supply chain

This course can be taken over a 12 month period and you can complete it in your own time during this period.
