The course focuses on teaching students the fundamentals of Health and Social Care sector, and it focuses on a wide range of topics - these include Communication in Health and Social Care, Barriers faced when it comes to communication, Equality and Diversity, and Also Human Anatomy, Physiology and Psychology, we will also introduces you to Sociology and how the environment around us can have an impact on our Health. Starting from the basics and upon completion of the course, students will be able to pursue a specialty within the Health and Social Care Sector by furthering their study if they wish to get into any of Health and Social Care sector career wise.

Be able to understand how society has an effect on our health and how our lifestyle and social status effects the way we are and the care we get. Become confident in your overall knowledge of how to communicate effectively with the people around you, keeping in mind what you will learn on this course – it will not only benefit you knowledge wise but also it will make you think about the way you interact with others and it will give you some enlightenment on the importance of non-verbal communication and how it is as important as our verbal communication.


Be able to understand the Anatomy, Physiology and Psychology. How some of the body systems work and understand how our psychology and the way we think affects our health.
You will be introduced to hazards faced within Health and Social Care and how they might affect our Health.

Duration and Certificate of completion:

The completion for the course takes normally 12 weeks. However, students may be allowed to complete the course in more than 12 weeks if they are unable to complete the course within the specified period. Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. You will be awarded a certificate in Basic Health and Social Care.

This course suits anyone seeking to get into Health and Social Care Sector. A Basic skill in English is required and an interest to study.
