Our 5 Day Bridal Hair & Makeup Course is designed to help you build a strong foundation of high quality hair styling and makeup techniques to embark on a hugely successful and fun career.

This intensive bespoke 5-day course is designed to suit both beginners just starting out and experienced hair and makeup artists aiming to update or advance their skills. Award-winning Bridal Hair & Makeup Artist, Holly Preston, will assess her student's individual experience level and tailor the course to suit each member of the class.

'The Hair and Makeup School' is located in the stunning setting of Nether Winchendon House and has exclusive use of the wedding venue to have professional photographs taken of your work to start building or extending your bridal hair and makeup portfolio. As a bridal hair and makeup artist it will be your portfolio that represents you, this is why we have chosen the amazing location of Nether Winchendon House as the back-drop for our courses. Having a fabulous hair and makeup portfolio will give you the very best start to a successful career.

On the final day of your 5 day bridal hair & makeup course, you'll get to enjoy a fully styled photoshoot with a professional photographer and fantasy bridal and couture wedding dresses provided by Rosie Red Corsetry, so that you leave with an incredible bridal hair and makeup portfolio to really kick-start your career.

DAY 2

• Delve deeper into classic bridal hair & makeup styling & learn 2 more popular classic hair styles with rope twist techniques incorporated into the style
• Find out how to tailor your styling techniques to suit your brides who are after that traditional bridal, vintage or boho look
• learn how to create texture and volume in your hair styles using different techniques
• Learn what tools to use and how to use them to create big bouncy curls, natural curls and waves
• Live hair demonstration creating a half up, half down hair style with different twist techniques and soft waves
• Live hair demonstration creating a rolled up hair bun with different twist techniques
• Perfecting your classic bridal makeup skills for a bridal glam effect

Day 3

• Plaiting and braiding is an essential string to add to your hairstylist bow, so i dedicate a full day to learning how to create a variety of braids also with incorporating twist techniques. Knowing how to plait and braid and twist the hair beautifully, either as a stand alone look or incorporated into a hairstyle, this will set you apart from the intense competition out there in the bridal hairstyling world.

Day 4

• The forth day of the course is all about vintage/retro hairstyle and period makeup – a subject that is very close to my heart! I pride myself in my extensive knowledge of the particular techniques required to get these tricky looks just right and after training with me, you will too!

PROFESSIONAL EDITORIAL PHOTO SHOOT
After the intensive 4 days of bridal hair and makeup training my students have the most amazing opportunity to use their new
professional skill set to create 2 bespoke bridal hair and makeup styles on their model for the photo shoot held in the
grounds of the exclusive wedding venue.
The stunningly beautiful surroundings of Nether Winchendon House provides more than just a glorious and inspiring place to work – it also gives you the opportunity to get the most remarkable photos of your work on the final day, with a professional photographer, so that you go away with an incredible Bridal Hair and Makeup portfolio to really kick-start or update your career.

i can provide you with models or you’re more than welcome to bring your own, to dress up in fantasy bridal and couture wedding dresses provided by Rosie Red Corsetry. We also get to use gorgeous bouquets of flowers and we can make the most of the wonderful flowers available to pick in the gardens, which offers the perfect finishing touch to your bridal hairstyles!
