This home learning level 3 Computerised Bookkeeping course is accredited by IAB and listed on the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) (QCF number 500/9407/5).

The IAB Computerised Bookkeeping Level 3 course consists of one mandatory unit that will teach you how to manage a computerised accounts system in order to provide management information.

After successfully completing this IAB Manual Bookkeeping course you could apply to the IAB for membership and to use the letters 'MIAB' after your name.

This course consists of one mandatory unit. It must be successfully completed in order to achieve the qualification.

Managing a computerised accounts system to provide management information - R601/8080 (level 3 - 10 credits)
Learning outcomes:

  • Set up initial data
  • Enter transactions
  • Process credit card transactions
  • Record transactions relating to the acquisition and disposal of fixed assets
  • Make end of period adjustments
  • Amend the chart of account and print, review, and analyse period end reports

Assessment

The Level 3 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping is assessed by one external examination. The exam can be taken at one of IAB's approved test centres located throughout the UK, and it costs approximately £35. We can assist you in finding a test centre convenient to you.

You must successfully pass the exam if you wish to gain the formal IAB qualification. However, if you prefer to study without formal assessment we can provide you with a certificate of achievement proving your completion of the course.

If you choose to register with IAB there will be an additional charge of £65, paid directly to IAB.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at those who already have a good working knowledge of the software, and wish to further their studies of computerised bookkeeping within a working business environment. It is suitable for those who have achieved the IAB Levels 1 & 2 Combined Award in Computerised Bookkeeping. It could also be used by those with no prior knowledge, but who have good practical knowledge and skills and wish to gain an accredited qualification in the subject.

Requirements

No previous qualifications or experience are necessary to enrol on this course. However, we do recommend that you have at least a basic understanding of bookkeeping in order to successfully complete this course.
