Overview

Introduction

The Role of the Executive PA is constantly evolving and even though many Managers and their colleagues see PA’s and Executive Assistants as an essential functional part of their organisation, they don’t always realise, or acknowledge, what they do and the critical role they play towards the success and profitability of a company.

This is particularly true today.

With so much business downsizing, re-organising and restructuring going on, the responsibilities of the executive secretary/personal assistant have increased dramatically.

Such a change could be seen in the 1990s when recession meant redundancy for many middle managers and secretaries took over many of the responsibilities and tasks once performed by them.

Whether your role involves organising events, managing your manager’s diary, providing administrative support or managing your office, it is essential that you can prioritise, manage your time well and effectively communicate.

This two day course will help you to excel in whatever PA role you find yourself. It will facilitate real change in the way you communicate, by helping you develop your role and understanding how it relates to the pressures on a manager and the business.

There are a maximum of ten PA’s /Secretaries and Executive Assistants on our two day event and you will find plenty of opportunities to share experiences and explore skills in a motivating, non-threatening environment with lots of hints and tips thrown in along the way.

Testimonials

Jennifer D – PA & Office Manager
’’Just a quick note to say thanks so much for letting me join in on the Executive Secretary/PA course last week. I was so impressed by the course and Marion was wonderful. Have come away with many helpful tips and it was great to get to meet other PAs. It's not often that you get the chance to meet people in similar roles. Thanks again. Will definitely book Pitman Training now whenever I can!‘’

CM - Admin Support Officer
‘’Just a note to thank you for looking after me so well over the last two days - I really appreciate it! I really enjoyed the course and have spent the day looking at ways of incorporating all these new ideas into my work. Please pass on my regards to Marion for a super course.’’

Hayley S - PA
"I thought the Executive PA Seminar was just fantastic, our trainer Marion Archibald was excellent, I honestly couldn’t fault her at all, she was completely inspirational and motivational, she really knows her stuff and maintained your interest at all times. I would recommend this course to any PA who is looking to increase their confidence in knowing how best to deal with their boss. The assertiveness training in particular has proved to be very useful! Overall, it proved to be an invaluable opportunity to gain useful skills and share experiences with other PA’s. I’m already thinking of which course I can go on next!"

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
