Overview

90% of high achievers have high Emotional Intelligence (EI).

EI is recognised as the most significant contributor to business success and the key to excellence in Leadership.

We can learn to be more Emotionally Intelligent and therefore increase our ability to deliver success in both our business & personal life.

This programme looks at how Managers can improve their own EI and the EI of their line reports.

An EI self-assessment will identify current EI strengths & areas for development enabling each delegate to create a Personal Development Plan for the future.

Throughout the day the focus is upon tips & techniques linked to the 5 EI competencies which impact on individual & team performance, with unique content across a range of subject areas.

It includes, for example, how we think & how this can act as a barrier to delivering results plus how the Manager acts as the “Emotional Thermostat” for the team & the temperature which should be set to generate team achievement.

In addition there is a session on “How to be an Owl” by being wise about the importance of Political Awareness in the workplace and how through increased Political Awareness, teams & individuals will achieve more.

As Plato said “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors”

This course will build the capability of Managers to “govern” using EI techniques for personal & business success.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
