Overview

What will I study?

The course is designed to introduce new techniques using a variety of media and techniques ranging from pencil, ink, paint, chalk and charcoal work. The course will give an overview of materials, techniques and processes involved in observational work. Each week will build on the experience and confidence with group critiques and discussions to achieve an improving body of work and a portfolio for further study.

How will I be assessed?

Demonstrations and discussions are followed by practical tasks for the student to undertake in the studio and at home if desired. All lessons will be taught in a specialist rooms / Art Studio.

What qualifications could I achieve?

There are no exams on the courses.

What can the course lead to?

Many students after completing this course progress to the other part time Art & Design courses or on to a full time programme in the school of Creative Industries. The course will develop and improve your skills in all aspects of drawing including an understanding of basic principles

The course is aimed students who have an interest in Drawing. You may have little or no experience of Art & Design but are keen to develop specific skills. You must be interested in drawing and painting with a desire to expand your artistic skills.
