Container Gardening

Learning outcome: You will have the confidence to come up with ideas for container displays of any size, and the practical knowledge you need to maintain healthy container plants.

Week One: The Basics of Container Planting

Understand the ‘where’s and ‘why’s of container planting, and how to assess the pots you already have.

Week Two: The Rules of Good Planting

Learn the principles of success, including the effects of microclimates and what makes a good container plant.

Week Three: Cold Weather Planting

Explore planting for the cold seasons and how to tackle the practical problems that colder weather brings.

Week Four: Make the Most of Summer

How to source and grow your plants, and even try growing from cuttings or seeds.
