Are there any requirements?

To enrol on the course, you must be over 18 and working in a HR or Learning and Development environment. There are no formal qualifications required as prerequisites for the course, however it is recommended that students have English and Mathematics qualifications at GCSE level. You will need regular access to the Internet and you must be resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man. If English is not your first language an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required.

What skills will I gain?

The CIPD Diploma in L&D Practice uses a highly practical approach, to provide an in-depth and thorough grounding in the training cycle and the fundamentals of learning and development. The CIPD Certificate in L&D Practice is a qualification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

The CIPD Diploma in Learning and Development Practice provides a firm foundation in all the areas of Learning and Development including its impact on business sustainability. It is an essential introduction for L&D professionals. It will help develop essential skills and give students the confidence to be more effective at work and to add value to your HR or training function.

Module breakdown:

In order to complete your certification you will need a total of 37 credits. You will need 10 credits from the following Core modules:

  • Developing yourself as an effective HR/L&D practitioner
  • Understanding organisations and the role of human resources
  • Recording, analysing and using HR information

You will also need to gain 27 further credits from the following modules:

  • Undertaking a Learning Needs Analysis
  • Preparing and designing learning and development activities
  • Delivering learning and development activities
  • Evaluating learning and development activities
  • Developing coaching skills for the workplace
  • Developing mentoring skills for the workplace
  • Supporting good practice in managing employment relations

Please note: each workshop is two days long at a cost of £106 per workshop and are held at locations in both London and Birmingham.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
