Description

Whodunit plots have gained a large number of audiences especially on TV series nowadays. Creating plot and conflict that will peak readers interest is challenging but in a crime scene the crime and how it is resolved should be something that will keep the readers guessing and left in awe in the end. In writing crime fiction, you’ve got to make your readers thinking and guessing, it’s a mind game. And with every crime story justice has to be served.

The culprit should not be revealed right away the readers has to enjoy guessing who it is until the end of the story and they have to be convinced of all the twists, evidence and conclusion.

At the end of this course, students shall learn how to: (1) write crime fiction; (2) create themes and characters; (3) research and investigate and (4) create plot and structure.

To achieve these goals, this course shall make use of interactive materials to present the concepts of the topics to be discussed. Assessments shall be done after the entire course to check for knowledge retention and understanding.

Character building is also vital, the characters has to remain real and consistent. The crime has to be real and believable too if not the reader will not be hooked at all.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
