Summary
Overview
For those involved in business, particularly for those in managerial positions, the ability to make effective decisions or to contribute to the decision-making process is of vital importance.
The ability to use mathematical techniques is becoming an increasingly important part of the manager's "tool kit", especially as low cost and more powerful information technology becomes accessible and enables more sophisticated techniques to be utilised.
The examples and activities utilised within the course will provide some clues as to the range of applications to which Business Decision Analysis (BDA) can be put. Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to work on problems relating to investment decisions, marketing and distribution, and product development.
By working through the exercises you will begin to understand the potential which BDA can bring to improving decisions in areas as diverse as organisational planning and forecasting, human resource management and manufacturing.
