Overview
Do you own a digital SLR camera and want to make the most of it? Or maybe you want to brush up on your existing skills. This course is a great introduction to digital photography that teaches you how to operate your DSLR camera.
Learn the fundamentals of photography such as exposure control and lighting and explore professional photographers and how they work.
You will explore photography and post production techniques through exercises and follow an inspiring project to produce a small portfolio of creative work.
Description
You will be guided through the camera controls and learn how to use your camera in manual mode, ideally giving you complete control over your digital SLR.
Involves lectures, discussions, projects and practical work. You will explore the relationship between f-stop, shutter speed and ISO/Noise and learn about lighting, colour, temperature and white balance.
Find out more about post-production in the digital darkroom using industry standard software; Adobe Bridge and Photoshop CS5 or 6.
Requirements
Level 1. Award in Photography - Beginner.
You do not need to have experience using Photoshop but you should have good basic computer skills. We use MACS at WAES so PC users may find the course more difficult.
