Course Objectives:
The course focuses on teaching students the fundamentals of book Keeping starting from the basics and upon completion of the course, students will be able to carry out book Keeping for different types of business organisations using the correct procedure.

The payroll part of the course focuses on teaching students all the basics of the payroll system. This course suits people who are completely new in payroll or wish to refresh their knowledge on payroll such as working out national insurance contributions and PAYE.

Unit 1: Introduction to Payroll
- Understand how the payroll system works

Unit 2: Calculating National Insurance contribution for both
Employees and Employers
- Be able to calculate National Insurance contributions using Tables and tools provided by HMRC
Unit 3: Calculation of PAYE
- Be able to calculate income Tax
- Understand why P45 is required
- Understand why emergency tax code is used
- Calculate income tax using manual process and tools provided by HMRC
Duration and Certificate of completion:
The completion for the course takes normally 12 weeks. However, students may be allowed to complete the course in more than 12 weeks if they are unable to complete the course within the specified period. Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the course. You will be awarded two certificates, a certificate in Book Keeping and basic Payroll certificate.

This course suits anyone seeking to get into Book Keeping or Payroll. A Basic skill in numeracy is required and an interest to study.
