Requirements:

You will be required to have a first or second class honours first degree (or equivalent) in biomedical or life sciences subjects (that included appropriate biomedical content), although other subjects may be considered. Lower grades, or non-degree qualifications supplemented by substantial work experience, may be considered at interview.

Assessment Methods:

You'll be assessed through quizzes, personal learning logs and end of course assessments which can include essays, posters, leaflets and online presentations.

Modules:

This course is made up on 180 credits. Students self-select various modules from a list of 14 designate modules as well as taking 3 core modules over their study period. Core modules include: Advanced Immunology (20 credits), Bioethics Research Grant Proposal (20 credits), and Research Project (Biomedical Science) (60 credits). Option modules include: Introduction to Haematology (10 credits), Introduction to Immunology (10 credits), Introduction to Transfusion and Transplantation, Introduction to Clinical Biochemistry (10 credits), Introduction to Cellular Pathology (10 credits), Introduction to General Microbiology (10 credits), Introduction to Medical Microbiology (20 credits), Introduction to Clinical Immunology (20 credits), Introduction to Molecular Biology and Genetics (10 credits), Introduction to Clinical Genetics (20 credits), Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology in Health and Disease (20 credits), Introduction to Cell Biology (10 credits), Toxicology (10 credits), and Haemoglobinopathies (10 credits).
