First Aid
Our online course is designed to promote the core principles of First Aid, including heart attacks, bleeding, medical conditions, breaks, sprains, poisoning, allergic reactions, respiratory problems and dealing with an unconscious casualty.

Description
Fire Safety
Our online course will provide the learner with the knowledge to help prevent and reduce?the risk of fire within the work place.
The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of fire safety for all staff.
LEARNING OUTCOME
• Be aware of the legal responsibility the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places on employees to help prevent fire
• Be aware of the importance of fire safety in the work setting
• Understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace
• Know the requirements of a fire safety risk assessment
• Be aware of what is required to start a fire
• Understand how fire can spread
• Recognise potential ignition sources in your workplace
• Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace
• Understand the principles and practice of fire safety management at work
• Understand the role of the responsible person?• Know what actions to take if you discover fire?• Understand PASS when using a fire extinguisher
• Know what kind of extinguisher can be used on each category of fire.
BLS
Our online module introduces the basic procedures of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Foreign Body Airway Resuscitation (FBAO) for adults, as defines in the
St. John First Aid Manual, 10th edition. Please note that this course does not qualify its users to carry out either of these tasks without further practical training.
LEARNING OUTCOME
• Recognise the symptoms of a heart attack
• Be aware of the steps to administer Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Be aware of the steps to take when an individual has a foreign body airway obstruction
Food Safety
Our online module will provide you with an introduction to Food Safety in Catering.?The aim of the course is to ensure the learner will gain an understanding of food safety and it will benefit anyone working in a situation where food is prepared, cooked and served.
COURSE OUTLINE
• Understand the importance of food safety measures when providing food for individuals
• Understand how individuals are exposed to risks due to bad hygiene
• Be able to maintain hygiene when handling food for individuals
• Know the measures to take to maintain a clean work environment
• Be able to meet safety and personal hygiene requirements when preparing and serving food
• Be able to meet safety requirements when clearing away food
• Be able to store food safely
• Know the four main areas where bacterial contamination can occur
• Know the importance of keeping a clean working environment
C.O.S.H.H
Our online course is suitable for all employees who may be exposed to risk as any part?of their duties. The course covers immediate and long- term hazards, risk factors, control measures to reduce risk, safe handling techniques, basic legal requirements and what to expect from a COSHH assessment.
LEARNING OUTCOME
• Understand what COSHH is
• Know why COSHH procedures are necessary in the workplace
• Be aware of the hazardous substances that may be found in the work setting
• Know the difference between a hazardous and non-hazardous substances
• Be aware of the effects that hazardous substances can pose
• Understand how hazardous substances get into the body
• Be aware of the steps to take in order to be COSHH compliant.
R.I.D.D.O.R
RIDDOR places a legal duty on employers, self-employed people and people in charge of premises. Under RIDDOR individuals are required to report: work-related deaths, major injuries or over seven day injuries, work related diseases and dangerous occurrences.
The course will help the learner understand the necessary requirements of RIDDOR.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
• Know what RIDDOR stands for
• Be aware of what is reportable under RIDDOR
• Be aware of the various methods of reporting
• Be familiar with the roles and responsibilities with regards to RIDDOR
Health and Safety
This online course will provide you with an understanding?of the legislation and responsibilities surrounding Health and Safety in the
work place, including an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
• Recognise the requirement for health and safety legislation in the workplace
• Understand the duties of employers and employees under health and safety legislation
• Understand the purpose of regulations in Health and Safety
• Understand the enforcement of health and safety legislation in the workplace
• Understand own responsibilities, and the responsibilities of others, relating to health and safety in the work setting
• Be familiar with the key points of the Health and Safety Act 1974
• Understand the role of the Health Service Executive in Health and Safety
• Know it is your legal duty as an employee to work safely
• Be familiar with the enforcement of health and safety legislation in the workplace
• Know the consequences of non-compliance to Health and Safety Law.
Conflict Management
After completing the module the learner will be able to explain the purpose of the conflict resolution procedure and understand the processes involved. The module sets out the key roles in the procedure and there are sections on mediations and formal meetings. Finally, the module will help you understand an employee’s right of appeal and on withdrawal from the process.
